Cathy has cared for these six since Feb. 10, 2002, when her friend
Ellen delivered her human child 10 weeks premature. Ellen was being run ragged, driving to and from the hospital
twice a day & caring for her other three children and husband. She brought her babies to the Sanctuary for a "vacation"
so that they would get the special attention and time out of the cage that they deserved.
UPDATE: June,2002
Ellen's preemie baby had
RSV, and asthma as well. She felt that she wasn't able to give the ferret crew the proper care and time that they
needed. For this reason, and because they were so happy and well-adjusted here, she decided to surrender
them to the Sanctuary. Three of the six are on medications for life. They are a great group, and will
have a loving forever home, here at the sanctuary.
Ellen's six are Ron, Marshie, Stinky, Bandit, Nutsy, and Dukie.
