September 24, 2004:
These three were brought to the sanctuary by a husband & wife who volunteer for T.A.I.L.S. (our local
humane society) T.A.I.L.S. does not take in ferrets. The three ferret girls had been purchased as a reward for the couple`s
daughter, who had behavior issues. The girl wound up in a correctional facility, and the couple didn`t have the time to care
for the ferrets.
We are happy to meet some new friends, and they have offered to come volunteer for US, a couple times
a month! They will be coming this Tuesday, Sept. 28th. They have asked us to make a memorial marker in honor of their cat
Simon. They will bring the $39. donation for this, when they come to volunteer next week. The money will help with general
support of the ferrets here at the sanctuary.

UPDATE: October 8th, 2004:
Dale & his wife never showed up to volunteer--nor did they ever call us.
Peanut wound up at the vet, this morning. She was vomiting, lethargic, and had lost weight. (She was very
thin to begin with!) We suspected blockage, but that was ruled out. I am to treat with supportive care. If she worsens, we
will have to take her in for exploratory surgery. The other two are fine.

UPDATE: Oct. 28th, 2004
We never heard a word from our new friends. The unclaimed memorial marker is still on the shelf. They
don`t know how very sick Peanut Girl was----but the good news (after days of intensive care here, & over $300. at the
vet....) is that she has recovered.
UPDATE: March 30, 2005
The three girls continue to thrive & enjoy their group. (Sweet group) They are very good with others,
have no biting problems, and are not picky eaters. They are not super about their litterboxes, but we will forgive them that
fault. Peanut has gained weight now, & looks very good! All three are very happy little spirits.
The former owners never made contact again.
More later!

UPDATE: September 26th, 2006
The girls chose to leave Sweet Group, & join Star Wars group, several months ago. Star Wars accepted
them, so it was a done deal! (Star Wars usually chooses to stay out longer, at playtime, and has a bit more energy than Sweet
group.)
Nibbles has been going adrenal for a couple months now. Thanks to a generous donation from SOS, she will
be receiving her 4 month lupron depot, along with 14 others in need, this week. May God bless all at SOS for making this possible.
Thank you, so much!
Peanut Girl is doing just fine. Looking & feeling great!
Fluffy is fragile, but healthy, so far.
More later.

UPDATE: November 8, 2006
Nibbles became adrenal & lost about half her fur, a few months ago. She got a lupron shot last month
(Thanks, SOS, for your generous donation which covered 15 of our 19 adrenal babies!) It is a four month depot, but we
have found it often lasts for 5-6 months. Nibbles has begun to re-grow her fur, & appears to be feeling much better. No
more itching half to death!
Peanut Girl is doing superbly! She, along with her two sisters, has chosen to stay with Star Wars group
(one of the rowdiest!)
Fluffy is still very thin & fragile, but no one messes with her, because she can stand up to the biggest
& strongest in the room!!!!
The three girls continue to thrive.
More later!
