Misty was surrendered by a woman who had three ferrets. The
other two were girls, but she didn't like the little boy. She was feeding all three of them Meow Mix & mashed potatoes!!!
"Mystique" was a TERRIBLE biter, and the woman's 13 year old son HATED the ferret. They referred to him as "Fat
Ass". The woman didn't want this boy.
After they got home to the Sanctuary Cathy was really surprised when
they discovered that "something" was MISSING!!!! "Mystique" became "Misty"! She still nips, from time to
time, and doesn't get along well with some of the others, but she has really improved!!!!
Cathy decided not to call the woman regarding their "discovery".
A pet should not be selected for its looks, or its sex, but rather for it's personality. Misty sure has plenty of THAT......
UPDATE!!! On 6/8/02, a year and a half after taking in Misty, Cathy got a call from Misty's
former owner. It seems that she has fallen on hard times and lost her job, and she wanted Cathy to take in Misty's former
sisters Jenny and Sable. If Cathy didn't, she would put a "free to good home" ad in the paper. The ferrets
have had a diet of Meow Mix & mashed potatoes. She lives at least an hour away, but Cathy couldn't turn them down. The
three girls were so happy to be reunited!!They recognized one another, right away. It was wonderful!!!
UPDATE: November 13, 2003
