This albino boy is Alaska. He was found wandering the streets of Chicago, so we
don't know a lot about his former home. He is one of Cathy's husband's favorites. He was quite skiddish when he first
came to the Sanctuary, but has learned to trust Cathy and her family, and even allows CUDDLING, now!!!

It has been five years. Alaska became adrenal, two years ago, and was on lupron. A little over a year ago,
we felt a lump in his abdomen. The Xray showed it involved a rather large area, & the vet suggested it involved several
organs. He could do an exploratory, but felt this would be inoperable. We then opted to just keep him comfortable.
Alaska acted like a normal, healthy ferret. (Played happily, ate well, etc) Didn`t seem to even know
he was sick. The tumor slowly grew, but never seemed to bother him at all--up until the last few days before we lost him.
He just began to slow down a bit, and slept more...He died peacefully at home, on July 18, 2006.
We will all miss Alaska very much....
